THE GRESWICK ANGUS STORY
The home property 'Hilmont' has been a family farm in continuous operation since the late 1800s. Preserving this rich rural heritage was important for John and Janelle, so after initially pursuing corporate careers, returned to live on the family farm to redevelop the property and to bring up their two sons Hayden and James in a rural environment. Hayden and James now represent the 5th generation to have lived on the farm.
Greswick Angus commenced in 2001 after restructuring of the family farm business. With a medical science background, John refocused these skills into understanding soils, pasture and livestock production systems to incorporate management practices that would be capable of sustaining their capital investment into farming. His commitment to the agricultural industry and to be at the forefront of livestock production systems is recognized in his educational portfolio which includes a Veterinary Science Degree, Diploma of Agriculture and a Diploma of Conservation & Land Management. Janelle, with a background in business and marketing allowed them to feel at home marketing livestock directly out of the paddock.
Their attention to detail and a clear focus on balancing environmental sustainability within a farming system has been the envy of many. In 2005 they were selected as a Best Management Practice (BMP) property and have conducted numerous field days and farm tours to showcase their sustainable farming practices.

Using ethical marketing and a focus on customer satisfaction, Greswick Angus livestock are highly sought after for their temperament, structural soundness and value for money. Both the stud and commercial arms of their business have expanded to supply pasture reared Angus bulls, replacement heifers and weaners for backgrounding throughout the year.
